Relationships Tip

One very important thing to keep in mind with EVERYTHING you do in life is that life is about relationships. So, be sure to establish good, healthy, respectful, meaningful relationships in all aspects of your life. Family, friends, colleagues, etc.

Perception & Behavior

Here's a good bit of info to consider. It comes from the book of Teaching with Love & Logic by Jim Fay and David Funk. Though this is from a book about teaching to students, I think we can all gain from understanding this concept:

"Perception is the driving force of behavior"

"A significant danger we all face is to interpret another person's behavior based on our own perceptions"

When one door closes......

A very wise concept to always keep in mind is....

"When one door closes.......another one opens"......
and the new door that opens might be even better than the one that closed.

Though we should remember too:
The grass is not always greener on the other side.....

A lot to think about!

A thought for today:

After watching some tv this morning, this thought came to me.......

"Jealousy gets you nowhere in life"

Not sure if this is quoted somewhere or not, but I totally believe that jealousy can only hurt your movement forward. Be true to yourself, be yourself. Never try so hard to be someone else because you will only lose your self.

Great Questions to Remember!

These were posted on blogit.com by leaderspeaker:

3 Questions to Ask Before Accepting a Big Responsibility
Before I commit to take a certain responsibility, I ask myself these questions:
(1) Can I add value or improve on it? If I can't answer this positively, I feel I have no right accepting any role because I will not be contributing to it. People want a leader who can make things better for them.
(2) Do I have enough resources to get the job done? The number one resource is people, the right people with the right attitude. Getting the right people lightens the load. When I delegate a task to the right person, it will get done properly.
(3) Will it be a priority? When we prioritize something, the minimum is we put time for it. However it is not enough- we must also find time for it. I don't like people who will always use family as an excuse for begging off from their responsibility. Yes, family is important and one should consider it before one accept a responsibility. If this will get in the way, then the responsibility should not be accepted in the first place-- rather than making it an excuse for non-fulfillment.

Another wonderful poem by mariaki on my other blog site:

Wednesday, February 27, 2008
Hello beautiful people... here is today's effort
In my Universe there is a paradise
Rays of light pour forth from my eyes
There is love in my heart; joy in my soul
Surrounded by nature; I am whole

Gratitude abounds in this world of mine
Blessed am I until the end of time
My body is healed no wounds to show
The river of life is full; I go with the flow

I have all I need there is plenty for all
Without guilt and fear of the fall
Unconditionally taking all in my stride
I hold my head up with hope and pride

Although aware of the plight of the world
Look and digest and to my opinion I hold
I am not oblivious to the dark side I see
And I am grateful to be here and just be me

This poem was written by mariaki who posts to my other site (blogit.com). Thought I would share since it's such a good message...

Did you choose this relationship or did it choose you
Did you need to heal someone and follow it through
Did you purposefully aim for a baggage carrier
Did you really believe you could change them forever

Now it’s over and your time together has all been spent
Now you know for sure where all your selfless effort went
Now you have found your soul’s purpose in this lifetime
Now you are strong enough to grasp another lifeline

You have the courage to be the healer or just to enjoy
You have the choice to be healed or merely to stand by
You have the choice of the role you want to play
You make the decision on the outcome of your day

Will you sit back and watch the world go by
Will you come forward and be counted on to try
Will you hide in the dark and be sustenance to fear
Will you don your armour; be the prayer for us to hear

Short & Sweet thought for today...

I read this recently and thought I would share it with everyone:

"All heartache comes down to having mistakenly held misguided expectations"

Align your expectations properly and you will have found the key to happiness.

Have a GREAT week!

L's Words of Wisdom for a "Happy, Healthy, Successful 2008"

Just some of my own personal thoughts and some words of wisdom I would like to share with everyone. I am a very easy going type of person, and try to live life to the fullest. My goal is to have a "Happy, Healthy, Successful" relationship with someone special. Oh, and I want to have some fun along the way! I am happy most of the time until someone tries to pull me down, disrespect me, or hurt me. Even then, I do my best to stay strong, keep my head up, pull myself back together, and strive to still be happy again. Life is full of disappointment, and hardships, you name it. For all the young people in the world, I hope some of this will help you, even just a little throughout your long journey of life. The world is a very different place today compared to 20-50 years ago. Everything and everyone is so much more advanced, and competitive in nature. So, I’m not going to lecture you about staying away from drugs, and /or alcohol. I’m not even going to lecture you about staying in school and getting a good education. I believe that your destiny will prevail, and you have to be able to make good decisions along the way to keep yourself on the right path. That’s all up to you. I think these three things will sum up the small fragment of wisdom that I am trying to communicate with you today.

1) Don't ever let anyone tell you "it can't be done".
2) You are what you think you are, and you can achieve anything you want in life if you just believe in yourself and "go for it".
3) Don't expect and you won't be disappointed

I hope everyone can take a little piece of wisdom from someone who has been through disappointing situations, or failures, and not make the same mistakes they did. So many times people have told me “NO” you can’t do that. Well, guess what? Most of the time, I can find a way around it, and get things done. I believe where there is will, there is a way. Definitely, you MUST believe in yourself and have some faith in order to have things go your way. I try not to expect, so that I am not disappointed. In that sense, I feel that the things that do come my way are then an added bonus to my life. When it comes to interviewing for any job, just remember…the worst they can do is so no. So, what! Get up the next day and try again. Remember that old phrase if at first you don’t succeed, then try, try, try again. You have to have some faith in yourself. If you can, surround yourself with a diverse group of happy positive people, who have an open mind, and bring something unique to the table. In the end, it’s all up to you - how your life turns out. Life is what YOU make it. Laughing, loving, and exercising are some big hitters too. Laughing alone can cure everything. It tends to make you forget what you were upset about in the first place. Loving with no regrets, well, I have been there, and almost married twice already, and no regrets! I loved with all my heart, and things just didn’t work out. C’est la vie (that’s life). Exercise is very important too. Even the shortest of walks can clear your mind of many things.
One more thing before I end this note. For those of you who have trouble sleeping at night because you are trying to remember too many things. Keep a notepad on the side of the bed and the minute something pops into your head, just write it down and go back to sleep. I tried this a few years back, and it’s great. I can sleep; and don’t worry; the list will still be there in the morning. Have a wonderful day and a very happy, healthy successful 2008!
ENJOY,
