Did you choose this relationship or did it choose you
Did you need to heal someone and follow it through
Did you purposefully aim for a baggage carrier
Did you really believe you could change them forever

Now it’s over and your time together has all been spent
Now you know for sure where all your selfless effort went
Now you have found your soul’s purpose in this lifetime
Now you are strong enough to grasp another lifeline

You have the courage to be the healer or just to enjoy
You have the choice to be healed or merely to stand by
You have the choice of the role you want to play
You make the decision on the outcome of your day

Will you sit back and watch the world go by
Will you come forward and be counted on to try
Will you hide in the dark and be sustenance to fear
Will you don your armour; be the prayer for us to hear
